When: Saturday, July 18, 2026. PM SESSION: 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Motawi Tileworks front lawn

170 Enterprise Dr. Ann Arbor, MI 48103

Carve your own 4x4 tile at this outdoor workshop hosted by Motawi experts. This ticket includes one seat and one tile. Additional tiles can be purchased at the time of the event (limit three tiles per person).

Please Note: 

·         After checkout you will receive an order confirmation email. This serves as your ticket.

·         If you need to cancel or reschedule, we require 7 days’ notice to refund your ticket cost.

·         Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

·         Wear comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting a little messy. We will provide tools, but you are also welcome to bring your own!

·         After carving, your tile will be kiln-fired, dip-glazed by hand in our Pacific glaze color and fired one final time. Your masterpiece will be available for pick-up at the Motawi studio (170 Enterprise Dr. Ann Arbor, MI 48103) on or before Wednesday, August 26th . We will email you when it is ready (about one month after the workshop). 

·         If you would like your finished tile shipped, we will process payment on the day of the workshop and ship it once it is ready.

Easel Info

Easels are an elegant option for art tile display. Fabricated from powder-coated steel, our easels are locally made and feature durable single-piece construction.

  • Medium easel: holds any unframed tile larger than 3 inches (recommended for most of our tiles if unframed).
  • Large easel: holds any framed tile or any unframed tile larger than 4 inches.
  • Small easel: holds 3 and 4-inch tiles (unframed).
Frame Info

Our quarter-sawn oak frames, handmade by Dard Hunter Studios, are available with a natural Oak or Ebony finish. They can hang horizontally or vertically, or perch on our large easels. Frame features include mitered corners and stapled joints.

  • Frame width is 2".
  • Any framed tile can pair with our large easel.
  • Note: Frame woodgrain and stain opacity varies.
