"You're not likely to find anything else as red as. And you'll never find anything redder than." - Charley Harper
Mid-century modern meets Motawi mastery in these tiles based on the work of celebrated wildlife artist Charley Harper (1922-2007), a self-described "minimal realist." From the Harper print "Red and Fed" (1970).
Actual tile size: 3-13/16" square
Tiles are 5/8" thick and have a notch at the back for hanging.
Our tile frames are made by Dard Hunter Studios, founded by early Roycrofter Dard Hunter and run by his grandson, Dard Hunter III.
The 3-inch oak Legacy beveled frame is available in Craftsman Oak finish only and is 9-1/2" square.
The 2-inch Oak Park flat frame is also made of oak and comes in Craftsman Oak or Ebony finish. Its finished size is 7-1/2" square.
Note: Legacy frames are available with dividers for framing multiple pieces. Oak Park frames are available with multiple openings by special order.
Motawi polychrome tiles are striking individual art pieces as much as functional tile installation accents. We’re told that our tiles will give you serious cred in gift-giving circles. And each one is made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
We embrace variation and handmade beauty. The bold heft of each Motawi tile reveals serious craftsmanship. And our time-honored hand-glazing methods produce a nuanced range of color with depth and translucence.
