Compensation & Benefits – This is a full-time 40 hours/week, typically Monday through Friday (8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), with occasional Tuesday through Saturday schedules based on business needs, generally averaging one Saturday per month. Scheduling is flexible, provided work coverage requirements are met. The pay starts at $18.00 per hour.

What You’ll Do - The Production Generalist – Packing/Q.C. primary function is to support the shipping department and Kiln room in product flow tasks such as, kiln loading and unloading, quality control, packaging, material management and ordering, freight shipment, crate building and logistics coordination. This position will also cross train to support multiple production functions within Tileworks such as allocation, maintenance procedures, and other tile making procedures.

  • Load and unload kilns throughout the day
  • Receive freight/packages, quality check, load and unload raw materials and finished goods
  • Implement quality control procedures and maintain high-quality standards for all products
  • Perform quality checks, pick, package/prepare and ship orders
  • Assist in allocation of in-process goods
  • Organize work areas and product storage area
  • Assist in keeping finished goods inventory organized and accurate
  • Understand and adhere to standardized processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through workspace cleaning, material replenishment, and continuous safety improvement initiatives.
  • Perform miscellaneous maintenance projects
  • Participate in presentations during public tours

 

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic math and computer skills with knowledge of business software (Word/Excel)
  • At least one (1) year of work experience
  • Organized, detail oriented and thrive doing repetitive work in a fluctuating environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to troubleshoot, make suggestions and solve problems
  • Ability to maintain flexibility, multi-task and quickly change focus/priorities
  • Ability to get along with others and demonstrate a positive attitude
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Experience in shipping and packing fragile goods (preferred)
  • Warehouse experience (preferred)
  • Stocking experience (preferred)
  • Quality control/ \Quality assurance experience (preferred)
  • Experience in a distribution center or production-related environment (preferred)
  • Knowledge of e-commerce shipping processes. (preferred)

 

Work Environment

This is a manufacturing environment with loud noises and exposure to dust, elevated temperatures, and occasional outdoor conditions.

 

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands to handle and feel objects; reach with hands and arms; and communicate verbally.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or maintain balance.
  • The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must repeatedly lift and/or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
