This tile was adapted from an art glass window that Dard Hunter designed for the Roycroft Inn in 1906.
William Joseph "Dard" Hunter (1883-1966) was primarily devoted to the study of papermaking. His designs for the Roycroft community in East Aurora, New York, helped define the Arts & Crafts movement in America. His art and design has been an ongoing inspiration to us.
Actual tile size: 3-13/16" x 7-13/16"
Tiles are approximately 5/8″ thick and have a notch in the back for hanging unframed.
Our tile frames are made by Dard Hunter Studios, founded by early Roycrofter Dard Hunter and run by his grandson, Dard Hunter III.
The 3-inch oak Legacy beveled frame is available in Craftsman Oak finish only and is 9-1/2" x 13-1/2".
The 2-inch Oak Park flat frame is also made of oak and comes in Craftsman Oak or Ebony finish. Its finished size is 7-1/2" x 11-1/2".
Note: Legacy frames are available with dividers for framing multiple pieces. Oak Park frames are available with multiple openings by special order.
