Where to Order

Motawi tiles are sold directly to the public and members of the trade from our Ann Arbor studio. Contact us at 734-213-0017 or email us at design@motawi.com.

Lead Time

Your installation tile will be made-to-order. As the name indicates, made-to-order tile is only made when an order has been placed. Our studio operates at a steady rate of production, so delivery times may vary depending on how many orders are ahead of yours. The staff at Motawi Tileworks is always able to provide current lead times for production.

Overage

It is essential to order 5-10% more tile than is specified for your project. This overage helps to ensure a smooth and timely installation in case tiles are broken during installation. It also allows for better range selection. Extra tile should be saved in perpetuity in case of future damage, since matching tiles to batches made years prior may not be possible. No overage is required on tile counts of fewer than 6 pieces.

  • 7-29 tiles = 10% overage
  • 30-60 tiles = 7% overage
  • 61+ tiles = 5% overage

Inspection Upon Delivery

Open all boxes to inspect your tile immediately to make sure that all tiles are accounted for, that no tiles are broken, and that you have received what you were expecting. Although mistakes are few, delays can be mitigated if they are addressed right away. In the event that tiles have been lost or damaged in transit, our shippers require that a freight claim be made within five days of delivery.

Returns & Cancellations

Returns are not accepted on made-to-order tile unless they are defective or damaged in shipping. Cancellations are not accepted on tile already in production. Please understand that installation signifies acceptance, and no post-installation adjustments will be made.
