4x4 Ennis House - Moonstone (Last Chance!)

4x4 Ennis House - Moonstone (Last Chance!)

Due to shifts in raw material availability, we are no longer able to produce our beloved Moonstone glaze color. However, we couldn't resist making one final batch of our Ennis House tiles in this exquisite glaze. We have just a few pieces left, so if you love this tile, be sure to place your order right away before they're gone!

Please note: Motawi glazes are applied by hand to each tile, resulting in subtle variations in color and surface texture. No two tiles look exactly the same, and our Moonstone glaze has an especially glorious glaze color range.

Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959) is recognized worldwide as one of the greatest architects of the 20th century.

Motawi Tileworks’ 4x4 Ennis House decorative tile is adapted from Wright’s concrete block design for the Charles Ennis residence in Los Angeles. Constructed in 1924, the Ennis House is a prime example of both the Mayan Revival style and Wright’s Textile Block System, an innovative building technique of joining blocks of molded concrete with reinforcing steel rods to create elegantly patterned walls.

  • Motawi tiles are striking art pieces and installation accents. Each tile is made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We embrace variation and handmade beauty: Our time-honored methods produce a nuanced range of color with depth and translucence.
  • Actual Tile Size: Approximately 3 7/8” x 3 7/8”. As each Motawi tile is crafted by hand, dimensions may vary slightly by up to 1/16".
  • Tiles are 5/8" thick and have a notch at the back for hanging.
