4x8 St. Nick

This stylish Santa, with his intricate robe, is based on a Susi Singer postcard that instantly caught Nawal Motawi’s eye. Susi Singer, a trailblazing Jewish Austrian-American ceramic artist, was one of the few women in the Wiener Werkstätte. Her design, part of a 1,000-postcard series from around 1910, brings some old-world charm to the holiday season!

  • Motawi tiles are striking art pieces and installation accents. Each tile is made by hand and with heart in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We embrace variation and handmade beauty: Our time-honored methods produce a nuanced range of color with depth and translucence.
  • Actual Tile Size: Approximately 3 7/8” x 7 7/8”. As each Motawi tile is crafted by hand, dimensions may vary slightly by up to 1/16".
  • Tiles are 5/8" thick and have a notch at the back for hanging.

Easels are an elegant option for art tile display. Fabricated from powder-coated steel, our easels are locally made and feature durable single-piece construction.

  • Medium easel: holds any unframed tile larger than 3 inches (recommended for most of our tiles if unframed).
  • Large easel: holds any framed tile or any unframed tile larger than 4 inches.
  • Small easel: holds 3 and 4-inch tiles (unframed).

Our quarter-sawn oak frames, handmade by Dard Hunter Studios, are available with a natural Oak or Ebony finish. They can hang horizontally or vertically, or perch on our large easels. Frame features include mitered corners and stapled joints.

    • This frame’s outer dimensions are 11-1/4" x 7-1/2".
    • Frame width is 2".
    • Any framed tile can pair with our large easel.
    • Note: Frame woodgrain and stain opacity varies.
