Our tile is meant to be used in a number of ways. The polychrome tiles are sold singly as art pieces and are also for accenting installations. They come with a notch on the back to facilitate hanging. They are appropriate for most interior applications and can be used in selected exterior applications. They are not recommended for horizontal exterior surfaces exposed to ice. Motawi tile have a soft pillowed edge and are 5/8” thick. The exterior measurements of 8x8, 4x4, etc. are a general guideline. We target a measurement of 3/16" UNDER the stated size to allow for grout (for installation purposes). This means an 8x8 is actually 7 13/16" x 7 13/16." However, due to variations in the manufacturing process these measurements will also slightly vary.
