These tiles are adapted from a concrete textile block design by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Charles Ennis Residence in Los Angeles, California. Designed in 1923, the Charles Ennis House is the most monumental of the examples of Frank Lloyd Wright's unique building technique that became known as the Textile Block System. In this system of "textile block construction," concrete blocks were molded in unique designs, then joined to form elegant interior and exterior walls.
